    RIP Stuart Scott

Long before there was a MLB Network, the only way to catch baseball highlights was to watch Sportscenter and Baseball Tonight. When you turned on that TV you always wanted to see Stu Scott as one of the broadcasters. As evident by all the tributes, Stuart Scott meant a lot to many many many people, including myself, so I figured we could at least have a thread to honor his life. We lost a great broadcaster on Sunday, but we lost an even better person. Stu Scott you will be greatly missed but we know you're no longer in any pain and let's face it... he's probably on the set of Sportscenter in Heaven and those there just got the best ever to bring them their sports. #R.I.P Stuart Scott

    "Booyah"

"You Ain’t Gotta Go Home, But You Gotta Get The Heck Outta Here"

"As cool as the other side of the pillow"

"They Call Him the Windex Man ‘Cause He’s Always Cleaning the Glass"

    "She's tall... he's tall"
"Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon"

I liked the fact that he was allowed to act black and use slang expressions on the show. It made for entertaining viewing.

Huge loss. I don't think many people understand just how influential he was for ESPN and broadcasters in general. As a Journalist, I'll be writing a column about him this week in my local newspaper. Sad to see him go.

While I can appreciate his impact, the legacy he left behind, and that he was a trailblazer in what he did, he was part of the reason I stopped watching ESPN. Personally, I just want straight reporting on sporting events. I don't want sensationalism and having to be forced to feel like I'm being entertained by the anchors. ESPN started getting more and more anchors with over the top personalities, and to me it became more about them, than about the sports.

I know some will disagree with me, and that's fine. But it's just like I feel about John Sterling calling Yankee games.

No worse than Olbermann, as far as that goes.
