Braves sign Jonny Gomes

Gomes' vesting option has escalators. Pretty doubtful his role will allow him to get to 425 PA, but vesting with 325 PA seems likely if he stays healthy.

He seems to be right around that many PAs the last few years, so if he is used as the short side of a platoon it will be close. If he hits LHers well enough to warrant 325 PAs then he will be a solid roster piece in 2016 for $3M.

I hope against hope that if Gomes isn't productive, we've got enough pieces (Almonte, Toscano, Perez, Terdo, etc) to keep from running him out there.
