well, when there are actual republicans that are elected officials or running for office with these views:

"For there is always light, if only we are brave enough to see it. If only we are brave enough to be it." Amanda Gorman

I'd think you'd like Bernie to get the dem nod. Obviously it ouwln'dt be as good as Johnson getting the R nod, but you know that isn't happening. Bernie would never sign anything that came from congress.

Not sure how Gary Johnson and Bernie Sanders would be one's top two choices unless you're all about the social issues or just purely want an outsider. Otherwise, two people couldn't be further apart.

Social issues are my primary concern. Fiscally I'm between the 2. I'm more fiscally liberal than Johnson and less than Sanders.

I'd love to have an election where you had two guys like Sanders and Gary Johnson running against each other. I'm more moderate myself. Lean left socially, probably center/center-right fiscally. But most moderate candidates these days don't seem genuine and only become that after they've finished selling out to the far wings of their party, particularly Republicans.

The system is screwed. There's probably going to be 20 Republicans and half a dozen Democrats, and while I would think one or two of them would make a decent president, not one of them remotely excites me.

right now we have a bunch of religious far right crazies, a moderate republican in Hillary and now Bernie Sanders actually being a rep of the left

Other than Hillary being hawkish and generally in favor of free trade, she's pretty solid left. Calling her a moderate Republican just isn't accurate.

good to know you don't know what a moderate republican is anymore since that party just keeps going farther and farther right

Please enlighten us what a "moderate Republican" is and stop making empty generalizations.

Eisenhower, Nixon, Rockefeller. I wouldn't quite put Hillary in with them, although she is much more moderate than Sanders or Warren.

    Ecstatic Bernie entering the race.

He may not win the nomination, but he's going to bring up a lot of discussion and steer Hillary to the left.

Still wish Warren would enter her hat in the game.

Hopefully Bernie can last longer than Kucinich. Just like republicans, democrats talk the talk about ideals and then vote safe.

Calling Hillary a moderate Republican is farcical, but that's just what you have to treat 75% of the posts on this sub-forum as.
