I spent yesterday unlocking as many items as possible and built my first level. A rudimentary level with an easy and a slightly more difficult way to beat it but it's easy to figure out. Next up is a more difficult level. Or a more creative one, hard to say what route I want to take.

Turner is picking the wrong game to showcase. Multiplayer Shooters aren't good for prime time tv, because you have ot constantly switch to different screens to get good perspective on the money shots (kills).
A game like Super Smash Bros or Street Fighter already have a cult following, and 1v1 matchups provide more tension.

I think finding the right audience is key. The game will often dictate the audience. And what really will help is how they handle production. I agree with you when it comes to live. But if they record it, editing it should be easy enough. So you can show someone about to be killed or who's doing the kill.
I think hte issue you hit with Smash and Street fighter is the existing base for esports. The biggest esports draws as far as competitions are Dota 2, League of Legends, Starcraft 2, and Counterstrike and Counterstrike GLobal Offensive. Wile I'm with you, fighting, racing, and sports games are the easiest to shoot. Because team games are much much harder, the key is to keep it off live. That allows you to hammer out commentary in post, edit the best shots together, and get rid of the tedium that occurs with esports. I watched something with my gfs brother, and like half of what you watch is a bunch of guys sitting in chairs doing nothing because the round hasn't started or some **** like that.

That's why I think Street Fighter or Smash have much better potential for Live TV.
It's easier to set up 1v1 matches fluidly.

I'm not a gamer so. My friends kid is turning 13 and he's getting a 360. His brother (9) already has a 360. They mostly play minecraft.
