Should the Braves sign Chris Young to a minor league deal?

I have been thinking Chris Young might best fit with us if he'll take a minor league deal. I say that because of the questions surrounding Wandy's health and Stults recent track record (esp. outside of his former home park). Plus I don't believe Folty nor Man-Ban are likely to prove ready to start the season. MLBTR asked the same question concerning Chris Young tonight and named the Braves among his potential landing spots.

What do y'all think? Would you be in favor of giving Chris Young a minor league deal with a spring invite to compete for the 5th starter spot? Personally, I would be in favor of giving him a shot as long as it's a similar deal to Wandy's.

At first I thought you might have been talking about the player, and I was like, "Why not?" Then I realized you were talking about the pitcher and I was like, "Here we go again."

I am not sure Stults or Young have much left in the tank and Wandy might not even being healthy enough to compete. So rather than just give it to Stults in that case I rather take a flyer on Young and see who looks to have more left in the tank. Plus I do think the Braves will likely go with a veteran in the 5th starter role.

Young is a better option than some of the names the Braves have tossed in the hat. Looking forward to Young Minor Wood jokes.

I would rather Folty stay down and refine than take more lumps against ML pitching. By a lot of accounts I read about him Houston admitted they pushed him way too fast. I'd rather throttle him back and have our guys get a handle on what he does well and can improve upon before we call him up again. 100 mph heaters don't grow on trees, so if he can start let's try that first before we move him.

Our rotation might end up looking like a Craigslist ad that could get someone locked up.

    Yes. Both of them.

Why the hell not? If you are in charge of inventory at the Goodwill, do you turn away a perfectly good blender just because the cord is chewed through by a rat? I think not.

I don't have interest in either the pitcher nor the player, but I would have interest in the country music singer.

I would certainly offer the CF Chris Young a contract. But he's already been signed by the Yanks.

I suppose signing the pitcher couldn't hurt anything. But I doubt he makes the the rotation and would be released anyways.
