    Josh Hamilton

This does not sound good. Multiple reports saying that he is going to New York to meet with MLB and the Angels are bracing for penalties against him. Ken Rosenthal asked a baseball executive if it has anything to do with with PEDs and was told "worse". The executive did not elaborate.

Well, I'm not sure they consider it worse for baseball, but it is certainly a more troubling life development. I guess it depends on how you interpret "worse."

Worse for him on a personal level, I guess, but that's the nature of addiction.

Hear hamilton had relapse. Believe occurred a couple months back. Involved at least cocaine. Honorably, he confessed.

One thing he did correct... after he relapsed... he confessed it. That takes guts and it is a sure sign that his program is at least working. Relapse is a part of recovery... its how you respond to relapse. I went through recovery myself 9 years ago from a drug problem. I responded the same way to a relapse and it was a valuable learning experience. At least he is still acknowledging his problem... as far as baseball goes... sucks for the Angels, but that was a dumb contract anyways.

Instead of an active ban for addiction, I would like to see a rehab period at a facility (and that time would essentially serve as a ban).

I agree, banning people for addiction does nothing.

I'm sorry but I just can't sympathize with him. I've seen and experienced first hand what drug addiction can do. His social status makes him readily available to excellent resources to combat this addiction and this is the 2nd or 3rd time he relapsed. He admitted it because he probably got caught. Just imagine the times he's used that no one knows about. Come on dude, you are a millionaire, utilize those top of line resources. Ridiculous and time to grow the FCK up.

Something tells me by your reply that you meant second hand. While his social status "makes him readily available to excellent resources," it also makes excellent drugs available to him and in his face on a regular basis. And PLENTY of addicts go for help after a binge without getting caught. Most of them want help because it really stopped being all that much fun years and years ago. Growing the **** up has more to do with your post than his situation, in my opinion.
