band of brothers isn't a tv show
it's a miniseries

I've still yet to watch a lot of tv shows like The Wire, Game of Thrones and House of Cards. Not sure if I'd like Game of Thrones, but I think I'd love the Wire and House of Cards. I didn't actually watch Sopranos until last year (after Gandolfini died ironically) and then I loved it.
Only Dalyn mentioned House? tsk tsk. House is a fantastic show, with great character development. Last season was rough, but the Wilson-House bromance saved it.

House of Cards is pretty damned fantastic. I haven't made my way through season 3 yet. And it could be a great one for sure.
I haven't started Game of Thrones. I want to finish reading the books first before checking out the show as I started that first.

As far as dramas go
The Wire
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
The Shield
Game of Thrones
Six Feet Under

Rectify - criminally underrated
And Better Call Saul has made a very strong impression in its first season.

I would have put Arrested Development on for sure, before they released the last season on Netflix. I couldn't even finish those, and I feel like they have ruined my cherished memories.
I also forgot Curb, that's on my list for sure.
The Atlanta Braves signed Nick Markakis for 4/45 - Never forget 12/3/2014

I disagree with the last season opinion you have. THough it's not on the level of the first 3, it's still good. My only real gripe with it was why have Seth Rogan and Kristen Wiig come in as young George and Lucille when they always played themselves in the first 3 seasons. To me it was like gratuitous adding of A-List comedic actors. Continuity in the context of a series is important. While the cast, producers, director, and diehards clearly realize there was a massive gap between seasons and season 4 could almost be viewed as like a different show. But to someone who's not watched the originals and didn't know of the cancellation, they come in and see that, it's jarring.
But it's still a funny season that plays on familiar tropes while making up new ones. I think the reason people don't like it is because of how it's cut. Where the story can be jumping all over the place in regards to it's time scale. Hurwitz is re-editing the season to be more linear. When that comes out, we'll have to see.

And Better Call Saul will likely make this list in a year or two. But too early to call it right now.

I actually didn't mind season 4 of Netflix. It wasn't nearly as good as the first 3, but it certainly got better as it went along.
Arrested Development
Seinfeld
Curb Your Enthusiasm (actually think I like it more than Seinfeld)
The Office
Family Guy early seasons
HOUSE
Dexter
Homeland (haven't watched season 3 and beyond because the first few episodes bored me to tears)
Breaking Bad
