USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports that the Nationals' negotiations with Bud Black "are over" and they "are now in talks" with Dusty Baker.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman was first to report of things falling apart with Black, and now it appears there's no hope of reviving talks between the two parties. Nightengale says that the Nationals made a low-ball two-year contract offer for less than $2 million, so it's no surprise that Black turned it down. At this point, it looks like Baker will be the guy. It's a stunning turn of events for what is a very desirable managing gig.

The Orioles werent paying what MLB awarded to the Nats anyways. I have ranted about this a few times but MLB is giving money to the Nats in secret because they believe the Orioles werent paying what they were supposed to according to the TV deal MLB negotiated. MLB assumed the Nats would win and they would recoup their money from the Orioles. Its bull**** to have MLB be arbitrator for a deal MLB negotiated. Its Goodell level bull****. The courts agreed and vacated that arbitration ruling. I wouldnt hold your breath on Nats paying back all that sweet sweet under the table money the Nats have been shoving up their ass these last few years though.

This doesn't really mean good news for O's/bad news for Nats. It just means the process is starting all over again. Fair market value could still be determined to be less than, equal to, or greater than what MLBs panel concluded.

The judgement isn't in favor of any team. The MLB panel awarded the Nats something more than the Os wanted and something less than the Nats wanted. This judge vacated that ruling and a new figure will be determined to award the Nats.
