Hamels has allowed homers to both Pedoria and Betts.

Edit: He's now allowed four solo homers today.

Not good news for the Royals:
Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 32s33 seconds ago
Yordano Ventura leaves #Royals game after grabbing right wrist, grimacing in pain, after throwing pitch.

Pretty crazy how much Porcello got...every time another pitcher signs it seems to makes Teheran's contract look better and better.

He has had solid FIP/xFIP numbers the last couple of seasons and he is still in his prime years. I think thats a smart deal by the Red Sox. You are always going to need pitching.

    How is giving a dude 21 mil per, who has a career 4.30 ERA / 4.03 FIP / 3.87 xFIP and a K per 9 of 5 a "smart deal"?

They are paying a #3 starter, ace money.

The same one? His FIP and xFIP last year were 3.7 with a 5.6 K/9

The most recent contracts are indicative of where the market is RIGHT NOW.

A contract signed a few years ago is what the market value was at that time. This is not difficult.

Doens't matter how the contract is strcutred. Kersh/Max got AAV's of 30M. So Procelleo is getting paid 2/3 of what they are paid.
