Hamels has allowed homers to both Pedoria and Betts.

Edit: He's now allowed four solo homers today.

Even with injuries there lineup is better than ours from a talent standpoint. That's just an excuse. Plus the have a rotation that is G0D form!

Nationals will cruise to victory in the division.
Especially since their main competition (the Marlins) are off to a far worse start than they.

Personally I don't see the Marlins as any better than us.

It might. It might not. Their offense could really struggle. So could ours. But theirs could, too.

My guess is Stanton and Prado will start hitting and that would make a huge difference for them. They've got a fairly balanced line-up and their pitching looks deep although not spectacular in Fernandez' absence. But you still have to play the games.

I tend to agree, especially when Eovaldi went to the AL. Their losing him brought them back toward us in the pack IMO.

I'm not worried about the Nats although I'm not in the camp that believes they are some super team like many pundits do.

Many of those great Braves teams during the run wouldn't start out so hot and struggle the first few weeks in April and end up with a losing record and get 4-5 games behind the Phillies or Expos only to turn things around in May and never look back at the division again by June 1st.

It's a long season, every game is important but it's early.

So when does Nelson Cruz test positive again? 4 home runs in a week is pretty crazy.

Hard to disagree with how the season has gone this far, but you would be in the definite minority with that opinion.

But if Alvarez needs TJ and Fernandez struggles coming back then I don't think they stand much a chance. Their pitching doesn't have much depth at all.

I don't think these starts mean much of anything. I'm more basing it on how the teams are constructed. I don't see the Marlins being all that great, but a lot of media people apparently thought so.
