    Donnie Veal Called Up/Cornely Optioned

Veal has pitched well in AAA. But then so did Cornely.

I am not sure if it was just rust or what, but Cornely's fastball was only 88 mph a lot last night.

I was wondering about that too. In the minors he's shown a bigger fastball.

I know in Gwinnett he didn't get those 12 K's in only 8.2 innings with that 88 mph fastball, that's for sure.

I'm sure guys like Cornely, Cunniff and Jaime will be more shots if they pitch well in Gwinnett. That's the way things are shaping up this year.

The addition of Veal will max out our 40-man including three on the 60-day DL (Simmons, Winkler, Outman) and three on the restricted list (McKirahan, Viz, Toscano).

Minor could be moved to the 60-day if necessary.

Looking forward to the Kurcz callup. That should be exciting.

I hope Fredi doesn't overwork him. I hear he's already pretty tender.

Given Fredi's track record, he probably won't overwork him until he gets hammered.

Hopefully Fredi won't coat him with breading and parmigiano, fry him, cover him with tomato sauce and cheese and then stick him under the broiler. Because he does that to his relievers at times.
    thank you weso1!
