Great news. I know our organization is higher on Perez than the prospect people but I'm glad we get to see what we have in the kid. Let Wisler develop a little more.

Yeah, Perez has seemingly gotten better every year. Let's hope he continues to progress.

Perez kind of reminds me of Rich 'El Guapo' Garces in both physical appearance and delivery.

He'll eat some innings, for sure.

Stults has been strong this year against batters the first time through the order. This might correlate to being a very good fit for the bullpen.

It's probably officially okay now to say that letting Wandy go in favor of Stults and Cahill is the first big screwup of the Hart foundation.

Yeah, considering the results of what has happened you can say that. I still say the move had plenty of logic. Just didn't work out.

Right, in hindsight everything is clear. But the logic was also clear. And season is still far from over. And if that's the biggest mistake, that we didn't keep Wandy Rodriguez, then that's saying something.

Some will hang on to that because there is nothing to criticize at this moment (this is not directed at you Rico).

Some things are going better than expected, but let's be fair: there's still plenty to criticize, just as there's plenty to praise.

Mistake yes but not a biggie.

Happy to see the Braves go this route on replacing Stults. I was on board with Cahill and Stults over Wandy. One of the many things I've been wrong about so far this season. Trying to predict baseball can be pretty humbling.

I think plenty is a strong word to use in this instance JPX but I come from a Braves goggles side so I don't have a very objective point of view .

If Texas is somehow able to move him for prospects then it becomes a pretty significant gaffe in my eyes.

I'm optimistic that Stults can be a relatively stable force in the bullpen, for reasons like what Garmel stated. He was willing to go to the bullpen back at the end of ST so that he's amicable to the long-man role is encouraging. Silver linings.

maybe Stults can be a viable 7th inning man; lord knows we need one.

I'd say your track record is better than many and we all get it wrong plenty of times. As you say, predicting such things in baseball can be pretty humbling. Plus you're honest about it and I respect that a lot. What is annoying is the posters that are often wrong who do the I told you so routine the few times they get something right.

Hopefully Perez will do well starting with us, I liked what I saw in his last game. He looked nervous his first game too, as you'd expect for a rookie his first game. So hopefully he's past that now and does well starting for us like he did in Gwinnett.

Cahill is probably worse. That's $6M that could have gone to Upton that we're wasting on a known dumpsterfire.
