    NHL?

I'm too broken-hearted to watch any more NBA this post-season, so I'm trying to take solace in another Blackhawks run towards the Cup.

Anyone else watching hockey in May? Anyone else see Shaw's 2OT header goal that was waved off by the referees?

The goalie play in the third period and first two overtimes has really been insane.

That's just the playoffs in general. Hate the Rangers, but Lundqvist is an absolute monster.
The up-and-down, back-and-forth play in pretty much every game is amazing. Really hope the Lightning can stick it to the Rangers.
The West matchup is too good, too. I have such a love-hate with Patty Kane.

We had a thread for NHL playoffs last year. It's the only time I follow hockey.

It's exciting during the playoffs for sure. Know nothing about hockey.

Ducks someone came out ahead. Anderson went through a stretch were he seemed to be getting paid to let pucks in the net.

On Friday evening, we headed south toward the NY southern tier, not far from the PA border. On the way, as is tradition, we stopped to grab a couple boxes at Imperial Pizza. This was/is Patrick Kane's favorite. He grew up in the neighborhood. They have a few signed jerseys in the waiting area (Blackhawks, Team USA). Yes, their pizza is excellent.

Caught most of the final period last night. Is there a better play by play guy in sports than Doc? Not sure how he'd do in other sports, but he is perfect for hockey.

Blackhawks doing a good job trying to make it more possible for me to watch the Braves game instead of the third period.

Serious question, who's better, Sid the Kid or Toews? Toews is on his way to his potential 3rd Stanley cup victory. He has a Conn Smythe trophy. Crosby doesn't. Infact in their cup run, Malkin was a dozen times more important than Crosby.

Toews has never really come close to Crosby's regular-season offensive dominance, but I'm going to be a homer and go with Toews because of post-season play—even though I'd much rather be from Nova Scotia (like Crosby) than Manitoba (like Toews).

Choosing a provincial favorite in Canada (excepting Quebec and British Columbia) is like choosing a flesh-eating disease.

Several of my friends hail from the interior and, damn, are they not ... exactly what you think of when you imagine a prototypical Canadian (which is like Frances McDormand circa Fargo but in a Mountie uniform).

I actually haven't been to British Columbia, but obviously Québec is the tits. I also really like Nova Scotia, though, and really all the Maritimes (St John is a great little town on Fundy, for instance). I'd also highly recommend the north Superior and north Huron sections of Ontario: better camping than around those lakes' respective US shores, and fewer people to get in the way.
