Braves recalled LHP Ian Thomas from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Thomas held a 2.70 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 3/3 K/BB ratio over his four innings of relief work earlier this season with the big club. He'll be used in middle relief.

Sounds like they're expecting Stults to really suck tonight.

Adonis Garcia sent down to make room for Thomas.

Seriously? Who else should they have sent down???
No one expects Stults to go very deep tonight and IF he makes it through 4 or 5 innings he won't be available out of the pen for at least a couple days - they HAD to have another arm for a few days in the event Folty can't get out of the 5th again Sunday. Your choices would've been to send Peterson, Cunningham, Bethancourt, or Ciriaco down or DFA EY (which I'll admit wouldn't have bothered me at all).
Pretty sure they picked the right guy out of the group that could've been sent down.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
They called Garcia up and gave him two pinch AB's and no starts and then sent him down. I totally disagree with that because I like his bat and don't buy that his glove is all that bad. Further, I would've DFA'd EY Jr. personally or sent Ciriaco down before sending Garcia down as I rather give Garcia a shot at third. It's not like Callaspo is hitting much and Ciriaco is now starting to hit like he did in AAA before he got added. Plus I'd argue this is probably the best time to give Garcia a shot at third rather than when everyone is healthy.
PS: I actually find it laughable that a team willing to start Chris Johnson at third and Gomes in LF apparently has concerns about Garcia. If I saw him struggling a lot on defense with Gwinnett I could understand it but he looked better than Gomes in LF and no worse than Chris Johnson at third.
