At least the governor sees the error of this sentence, but it was ridiculous to begin with. If you are black, you would be an afterthought. My cousin got 3 years for a pound of weed he was just taking to his friends for medical purpose, but the Kentucky judge stated otherwise and he even told her why do I need to sell because I work a great job, he didn't have a car. He only stayed 10 months but he lost his good job (for Kentucky making $20 an hour is really good) and now a felon, but thankfully family like his skills and employed him. We as a family try not use nepotism but in cases like this we do.

He never got in trouble before, EVER. I spent a lot of time with him, he was just helping out and the police and judge thought otherwise. They even ask who his dealer was....surprisingly Colorado.

You read up on his past drug history and what the DA said he did but couldn't prove? It might be legal in 7 states now, but it wasn't when he committed the crimes.
