    More Proof of Religion's Danger

Myanmar continues to be ****ed. Despite being primarily Buddhist, they still take time to persecute others in the name of religion. If you can convolute the words of the Buddha into violence, it shows how easy it can be to turn the words of Jesus and Mohammed into weapons as well.

People need to stop using religion as a weapon. I think it serves a purpose for some folks, but this is why I think organized religion is one of the biggest dangers to th eworld.

First, what is happening to the Rohingya is indeed tragic - reminiscent of the time when Jews had hardship in finding countries that would receive them.

But second, this is really evidence not that we need less religion, but that we need for some Buddhists to be better Buddhists (like when Christians living inconsistently with their professed faith).

Third, if you pay closer attention rather than playing the facile anti-religion card, this case and the case of the Buddhist persecution of the Tamil and Muslims in Sri Lanka, and Hindu persecution of Christians in India, there's usually much more going on than religion and often the religion is but a mask. There are usually as powerful if not more powerful factors involved like social-status-caste (like in India), or ethnic-tribal (like in Sri Lanka and Africa).
