OT: Ambidextrous Pitcher for Nashville Article

    http://espn.go.com/espn/feature/stor...ls?sf9777267=1

Always wondered when we'd see this. What are the rules in place? I think a hitter cannot switch sides during an at-bat unless there's a pitching change in the middle of an at-bat?

    He can't switch gloves obviously.

I do think a guy like this would be a DREAM pitcher for Fredi. Could pitch in all 162, multiple innings if need be.
    Forever Fredi

    he got called up

he has to state which arm he is throwing with and can't change until the next batter or a pinch hitter

has to tell a switch hitter which side he will throw from and the batter can choose which side to hit from and can't change either

His training regiment must be tough having to keep two arms in throwing shape.

Hopefully he doesn't have reverse splits, otherwise Fredi won't know how to use him.

Not sure of the exact rules and if they've changed, but a few years ago ESPN did a little blurb about one of these pitchers in the minors. The batter was a switch hitter and both guys kept switching up before the at bat. Finally the umpire made the hitter choose a side. The pitcher then chose the same and proceeded to strike the guy out.

When I was a kid I used to train both right and left handed pitching. It's very easy to injury your non natural arm because mechanics will allows be a little off.
