With feel for pitching, a smooth, simple delivery and a promising pair of offspeed pitches, Soroka looks the part of a future major league starter. At its best it can slice through the zone with two-plane break and late bite, but the shape needs to become more consistent for it to become a reliable swing and miss offering.

Yeah, based on the mock drafts I've seen, this was a big reach, which hopefully means we're planning to get some overslot guys later. We knew the Braves had the chance to be creative in the draft. If taking Soroka here allows us to get Cameron at 41 and sign him, then I'm totally fine with what we've done so far.
But if we can't get Cameron, I'm going to really question it.
I'll be very careful not to appear to question this pick.

The good and bad thing about having so many picks and taking tougher signs. On a positive note you get a talented guy that will sign for less.
It will come. I'd rather not use high picks on average to below average power guys when we can get guys with above average raw power later in the draft.
