Overall Wren's drafts weren't good, but obviously he did get some good players. I really don't get the defense of Wren. Were you guys really that in love with him when he was here? I was a big Wren defender up till he signed CJ long term.
    thank you weso1!

So Wren gets no credit for anything he did while in tenure... He was the GM that drafted/signed A LOT of good major league talent (many of which our part of the core you love so much)...

And supposedly I'm the one with an agenda

He's been a pleasant surprise thus far. He's strike-to-ball is about 60/40, which is a bit low for a guy like him. But he's been a ground ball pitcher coming up through the minors (although that ratio hasn't been as heavily weighted since his promotion, but we're still dealing with a small sample). It's never good to pitch from behind in the count, but if he can keep the ball in the park, that's not that big a problem.

Claiming Wren dismantled the organization is a joke. Some of his moves were terrible, but the team won.

Dismantling the organization did not have to do anything with player personal

Got to give credit, when credit is due.

Just now getting to watch tonights game and Perez looked the best he's looked since coming up. Did a much better job of getting ahead early and making them hit his pitches. Must say I am/was impressed and hope he can duplicate tonight's start on a regular basis and if he can, then he may just make a good 5th starter. I'm still not sold, but he is slowly making me eat my words and making me a believer.

    Great game Williams!

According to thethe in another thread, Wren doesn't get credit for Braxton Davidson either.

As a starter. 7.25 K/9, 3.75 BB/9, 0.25 HR/9, 3.27 FIP. Very good numbers. I don't expect that HR rate to stay that low but even with a bump a mid 3's FIP would still be excellent for his spot in the rotation. Hope he keeps it up.

Walk rate needs to come down. He's had to pitch behind in the count a bit too much. But I've been a fan for a while. Love all those DPs he generates with the sinker.
