The quicker we eliminate them the faster we can begin concentrating and preparing for the post season. Still hope we can get a veteran pitcher via waiver claim. I am just not comfortable having so much inexperience in the playoffs. We are really going to miss Hudson. Hope he gets well soon so he can at least get back to tutor these young pitchers.
Well, with the exception of Burnett and Waino, no one else in the NL playoffs has a ton of playoff experience either. We will just cross that bridge if we get there.

I don't really think baseball is ready for that.

We could virtually end the Phillies' season tonight and put the Nationals yet another game out of reach. A loss is no big deal but a win imo is very big... which means this game is nothing but fun

Like I said, main thing I'm hoping for tonight is that Wood can go 7-8 innings and keep our bullpen rested.

Also, we're throwing Minor and Teheran in that Nats series, and we'll be coming in red hot. We should be expecting to win that series too.

But given they are throwing it's top 3, will be tough to win the series. Can't win every series. I could live with just getting one.
Agree we can't win them all. However we are also throwing our top three and the Nats are below average this year. We should expect 2

NIce match up tonight, our best lineup vs their best pitcher, a guy we've had not luck vs lately. And like the man says, house money. But we have a winning streak to protect!

ESPN pimping Freddie pretty hard today. That's a new idea for them. Surprised they didn't feature Ryan Howard.

    Yeah, hopefully Wood goes deep.

Alex Wood is good. If that pitchign motion allows him to hold up in the rotation we are going to have another league minimum well above average major league pitcher.

So, it's not about the size of Wood, it's about his motion on the mound?

Maybe so but they are throwing their top 3.

I've said before, I would be fine if we just got one from them.

I thought it was about how hard he gives it to opposing hitters.

The problem with bringing at 100% every night is it can tire you out easily, and makes you more susceptible to injury.
