6/26/2015 MINORS THREAD FRIDAY ... Check all the PITCHING! DSL's amazing outfield

The Braves' Dominican Summer League team has, for the most part, been so far below fans' radar than many don't even know it exists. That changed last year when Oz Albies wowed everyone, but year we might need to multiply the Wow Factor times 3 to appreciate their amazing outfield. All three of these guys are making their pro debuts in 2015.
Randy Ventura (age 17) 5-9, 165 Bats: both. A winter D.R. signee, he has shown speed like the Braves have seldom seen, Mallex and Pedroz notwithstanding. In his third professional game, he stole five bases and has 23 steals in 25 attempts in just 15 games. He has scored 21 runs, batted .436 (24/55) but with just one XBH and is working on a steak of five straight multi-hit games. He also has five outfield assists. Turns 18 on July 11.
Raysheandall Michel (age 17) 5-11, 170 Bats: right. THe latest Curacao find did not begin play until June 17, but in his first nine games, has four multi-hit games. He has scored 14 runs, driven in eight and has four steals. Oh, and he has yet to have a hitless game. Turns 18 in September.
Anthony Concepcion (age 20) 6-1, 200 Bats: right. Became the team's main offensive threat right away with three two-hit games in his first four. Obviously stronger as well as older, has a pair of homers, 13 RBIs and five doubles but is also 7-9 in SBs. A Venezuela product.

Here's a pic of Michel from last summer.

Ventura's OBP is now sitting at .500. Only 3 Ks in 55 ABs.

Only thing I've been able to find is that Michel was a six-figure signing.

Here's a blurb from Baseball America after he signed:

Curacaon center fielder Raysheandall Michel starred at the recent Senior League World Series, with the 16-year-old hitting a rare home run at the event.

The pic I posted was from that tournament.

I don't like to get hyped about prospects until they hit A ball or we get a glowing scouting report from a credible source but if Randy Ventura becomes a thing he needs to go by Ace.

Very encouraged by Alex White's performance. The Braves just signed him on the 12th.

UNC talent. Was a first round draft pick (#15) by the Indians in 2009, top 50 prospect during his tenure there, eventually traded to Colorado in the Ubaldo Jimenez deal.

Sucked it up in Colorado for two seasons at the Major League level, got a DUI, then traded on to Houston in time for the 2013 season and immediately needed TJ surgery. Missed 2013.

Came back in 2014 but was miserable in a little over 100 PCL innings between 2014/2015.

Released by the Astros in early June, signed by Atlanta 4 days later. He's given up 5 runs over 17 innings since joining Gwinnett, 10K, 10BB.

White said his surgically repaired arm feels good, but he's dealt with a loss of velocity since the procedure.

"I feel great, the elbow feels incredible, the shoulder is good, but the ball's not coming out of my hand like it did before," he said. "I threw a lot harder. Now it's about being patient and working hard, making sure I'm doing everything I can to be the pitcher I was before Tommy John. That's what we're looking for every time I go out, building arm strength and going deep into games."

Bottom line, he's happy for a second chance with the Braves.

"It's been really good. Coming back from Tommy John, it hasn't gone as well as I would have liked, but I'm trying to be patient and hope it comes back like it was before," White said. "I'm fortunate the Braves took a chance to find me, so now it's about patience and having some games and some time and innings to let me prove I can come back."

Raysheandall's older brother, Raysheron, is a CF prospect in the Mariners organization.

Not to disappoint Julio, but it appears (basing this off of how the Braves official roster has him listed) that he goes by the moniker of 'Shean' -- a little bland.

Some more pictures, which I will admit I stole from his Facebook profile (adjust your privacy settings accordingly, kiddies):

Edit: Who is that in the framed picture at the Dominican Braves' office?
