Why are there black churches to begin with? Shouldn't they want diversity?

cause white people wouldn't allow black people into their churches back in the day

so, to practice their faith they opened their own churches.

but hey, this was fun talking about this instead of the actual topic of a 7th church in the south that are black places of worship since 9 people being murdered in one

That's probably the dumbest thing you've ever posted. Black churches are actually far more open the white ones. I took a Jewish kid to church when I was in Junior High and was reprimanded

Roof may have acted alone but he isn't alone anymore. Homeland Security should arrest anyone marching with the KKK. They are a terrorist group and should be treated like one.

Yeah a pretty dumb post. In fact, it was once illegal for blacks to assemble for church and Emanuel AME held services anyway.

This is the perfect demonstration of the hypocrisy of southern Christians and the right wing. Plenty of outrage over gay marriage and nary a peep about the arson of Black churches.

I think burning a church down is as big a sin as murder. The church is the womb of God, if you will, where one receives spiritual guidance and rebirth. Attacking this sacred symbol with your hate is like bombing schools or hospitals. There's really not much lower you can go.

I hope they find who is responsible for this, but give me a break about it being as bad as murder.

There is hypocrisy is any group of people, moreso in religious groups.

i don't think the religious groups can beat the liberals when it comes to hypocrisy. Cause you know black lives matter when they are killed by whites but the other 95% of the time blacks are murdered (by other blacks), liberals don't give a ****

Runnin, do you feel the same way about inner city gangs as you do the KKK? After all one commits murder and deals drugs 24/7 while the KKK does what? Possibly burns down churches even though there's no hard evidence of it.

Three of the 7 are confirmed arson. The one in Tallahassee was due to a fallen tree branch. The one in Gibson County was due to a lightning strike. The fire in Knoxville was possibly due to vandalism.

Absolutely. Once you have a competent police force you can trust, I'm happy with shooting gang members on sight, of any color.

And I still think setting a church on fire, motivated by racial hatred, is as bad as murder, if not worse. It's about the most despicable thing one can do. In an instant you give a few hundred people PTSD, people who've already lived their lives under a cloud of racial injustice. But I also think it's really hard for White people, especially me-first Americans, to truly empathize with the situation. Nothing like this has ever happened to them.

Just imagine the nationwide uproar if random Black racists were going around burning White churches to the ground.

You are comparing burning down a structure to taking someone life. Just sit back and compare the two.

I'm sure however most of these probably have been.

The KKK is still very strong unfortunately.

burning a church should never be compared to taking a life

even if it turns out only 3 or 4 were set on purpose, that is insane to me knowing the climate in the south right now on the topic

any church burning shouldn't happen. we as a country respect the freedom of religion and it should be protected

Why not? It's just an interesting juxtaposition that you can agree or disagree with. It's obviously not the same as taking a human life, but the crime IS cold-blooded and comes from serious racial hatred. I don't think there are very many who would do one but not the other.
