See where Allan Dykstra was released off the Durham roster Saturday. Wonder if the Braves take a flyer on another Dykstra for awhile.

We are short a AAA 1B, so it wouldn't be a shock to see him (or someone like him) signed.

Jose Pina and Juan Yepez appear to be off to decent starts in the GCL. Pina is repeating the league, but he joined the GCL team fairly late into the season last year.

Watching Sanchez....He's got such an easy arm action, but he's having a tough time repeating his delivery. It's causing his command to be off. He's a baby. I'm thinking that he and Allard,if/when/should he ever sign will be along the same developmental path with Sanchez a step ahead. If he repeated A, I wouldn't be upset though. He needs the innings. Albies, looks smooth at short. No doubt he's going to be good there.

Nice to see Yepez starting hot in the GCL.

wouldn't a player that young start in the DSL?

He was our highest bonus last international signing period, signing for $1 million. They must think highly of him to pay that much, which makes his GCL assignment sensible.

Typically...yes. Unless they really are advanced. By all accounts Yepez was on many teams wish list, but the Braves had some inside track to him. They targeted him early and never let up. He's got talent for sure.

Totally depends on the player. Albies went straight to the GCL last season. Braves have placed more of last year's signees in the GCL this year than in previous years. Don't know if that's the new regime or the nature of each individual player.

In other news....Grosser has looked like YOUNG hot garbage all year. Honestly though, his stuff looks ok. Sims lite...but the adjustments are killing the Rome pitching staff.

Mallex Smith is 3-4 today for Gwinnett with three stolen bases and an outfield assist (second base).

I think Pina was there from the start last year but got suspended. It wasn't a drug related suspension.

Braxton played. Had a hit and a hard hit ball to LF that was a line. Boy. Salazar looked very good, Albies.. Like him better than Peraza at the same stage. But boy is he short. Lol

I've only seen him live once and I was sitting in the 4th inning like, "I can hit this dude," but alas he was dealing! All of his pitches moved. I like him. It may be time to challenge him.
