Gnats, prepare your anuses.

Gattis can't break a slump on the bench? Have you looked at his stats off the bench? That is where he is most valuable, by far. And, regardless, BJ is in a slump of his own. More important to get him out of it.
Heyward (08-05-2013)
Nats lineup.
Harper
Desmond
Zimmerman
Werth
LaRoche
Ramos
Rendon
Hairston
Strasburg
Actually, Heyward is probably better at any outfield position. BJ has a -35 DRS for his career in centerfield, including -3 DRS this year. He's nothing special out there even with his arm. Heyward would probably be on the plus side or at least even playing centerfield. Further, I don't buy your assertion that Heyward cannot continue to play centerfield. He should be fine to do so, just as Hamilton did for a while in Texas for example.
That said, I do agree that it's probably safer not to keep Heyward in center long term. But there's no real substance to arguing that he cannot play center semi-regularly now.

As much as it drives me insane we have to ride the BJ train. Maybe he can finally rise up after all the time of not performing
Never forget
I don't buy that playing Heyward semi-regular in center would be a problem. If that's what you believe, we disagree. But I do understand and pretty much agree with the long term argument. Further, I know BJ is here to stay of course. Also, I am not saying sit BJ every game, but I certainly don't want to go back to Gattis playing as little as he did the weeks before his injury.
BJ is going to have a big August fellas. Trust 'ol Hula on this one.
I am looking forward to burying these buttwaste Nats for good this series. Just blow them right off the back of the WC train.
One big key is going to be running Strasburg's pitch count up early. Get into their pen, and wear it out. And by Wednesday, have that pen just drained.
I still say BJ turns it up also... I think he was pressing being on a new team, trying to impress and then he just got completely out of whack. I still say he ends up playing about how we originally thought he would when he signed the contract. Nothing spectacular like his first couple of years but nothing as terrible as we have seen thus far. I think fans will end up being a BJ fan when its all said and done. IMO, I hate people saying on other boards mentioning he's a cancer... from what I've seen he's been trying to work hard and he's been saying all the right things. He obviously knows he's been terrible and you can tell he feels terrible about it. He will snap out of this.
Werth just scratched.....
Heyward scratched with hand injury from HBP yesterday.
