Then what's the big rush for a Peraza call-up? Is there something wrong with him finishing out the IL season, raking, and building confidence?
I'm not mad over losing Uribe or Kelly Johnson, but I might have liked to wait a little more. I'll trust our scouts though. They might see something in these guys. And for whoever said this will be good because we're sticking it to the Nats, the Mets can go **** themselves. Still hate them.

There's really no such thing as a 'lost season' for a team that is actively rebuilding. You grow out talent, shuffle pieces, figure out the mettle of your core. If the Braves had a clear spot for Peraza he'd be up already. That changes if Maybin is traded.

Word Origin and History for irregardless Expand
an erroneous word that, etymologically, means the opposite of what it is used to express. Attested in non-standard writing from at least 1870s (e.g. "Portsmouth Times," Portsmouth, Ohio, U.S.A., April 11, 1874: "We supported the six successful candidates for Council in the face of a strong opposition. We were led to do so because we believed every man of them would do his whole duty, irregardless of party, and the columns of this paper for one year has [sic] told what is needed."); probably a blend of irrespective and regardless. Perhaps inspired by the colloquial use of the double negative as an emphatic.
