why not Williams Perez? Is he not recovered form that foot thing yet?

He was considerably better than Folty in his time up.

I dunno, man. It's almost like they don't want to win.

The #Braves gained some concern for Banuelos when they saw some FBs that registered 86 & 87 mph during Friday's start in St. Louis.

Yeah. I think they have to weigh carefully how Baby Harang might affect the drive for a protected pick. There are quite a few bad teams out there. The competition is stiff. It is important not to take any games from the Orioles. By losing to them we win twice.

Not concerned yet. Especially since this may just be a way to keep his innings down. We knew he'd be shut down at some point this year, so we'll wait and see if this is anything serious.

Baby Harang looks like he is ready to return to the ML rotation.

I'd hope this is an innings tactic but I think he's already started his option so you would assume they'd just send him down.

TJ is always diagnosed as elbow inflammation or a tight forearm about 1-2 weeks before they decide to have surgery. Someone had to be the first recently acquired pitching prospect to blow his elbow. Guess it was ManBan.

This could be a blessing in disguise.I for one think Folty needs all the big league innings he can get so we can see what we have.Imo it would be best to shut down Manny until the spring and have all our young arms healthy and ready to go

I hope Folty watched Smolzies hof speech and took to heart how much he struggled early in his career.Im a firm believer that letting a young pitcher take his lumps and learn on the job is far better then sending them back to the minors after a handful of starts esp when your not in a pennant race. Its why I also wish they would bring up Peraza and let him play.No reason to not use this lost season as a proving ground for the young ones

There is an argument against doing that. Service time. I know for a player like Peraza, his age 27 season is likely to be more productive than his age 21 season.

Question, were Smoltz, Avery, and Glavine's innings limited when they came up? I know it's said Avery's career fell off because of too many innings at a young age, but did he really pitch more than Glav or Smoltz?

Yes. Avery reached the majors at an earlier age. And Cox rode him pretty hard. Lots of high stress innings deep into games.

An MRI taken Wednesday on Manny Banuelos' left elbow showed a posterior bone spur.

The hope is that he will be able to pitch again this season, but there are no guarantees. Banuelos was placed on the disabled list earlier this week.

That actually sounds like good news.
