Mike Hessman tied a minor league record with his 432nd career homer Wednesday in a win for Triple-A Toledo.
The historic blast came in the third inning off Rochester right-hander Michael Bowden. Hessman also contributed a first-inning double. One more homer will put him ahead of Buzz Arlett for the most in minor league history. The 37-year-old leads the Mud Hens with 15 round-trippers in 307 at-bats this season. A career Quad-A player, Hessman hasn't made a big league appearance since 2010.
