Funny thing is the closer is basically the most protected pitcher from Fredi. It ensure he only pitcher when we have a small lead... rather than every night like everyone else in the pen

Fredi was quite protective with Grilli and opted not to pitch him on three consecutive games. I think there was only one exception to this. On occasions when Grilli would have gone three consecutive days he brought in Johnson for the save. With Kimbrel there was no issue going on three consecutive days. So I think it varies by the closer. Fredi worked Kimbrel and Venters very hard in his first season as manager, which was one factor behind the team's late collapse.

I would like to see something like (before the break) -

    Grilli
    Shae
    Viz
    Feliz
    McKirihan
Eric O' (his lefty splits are still fantastic)
    Hunter

If Grilli returns with any success, trade him at the deadline and move everyone up a spot and promote Winkler, Ban, or Folty. Someone like that.

Paco Rodriguez is another one to consider. Banuelos is out of options. Winkler has to be kept on the major league roster or offered by to the Rockies.

Good point on Ban and Winkler. I'd prefer Ban in the rotation.
