Ridder and Corral were the two guys I thought could play sooner vs later. Lot of starts under their belt....

They are both wild cards for different reasons but relatively high ceilings if everything falls right.

I don't think you know anything for 3 years but if you get a change to draft a top tier QB next year that pick wouldn't lead you not to draft a Bryce Young type.

That's fair. I guess if you draft a Young type player and both he and Ridder end up hitting, there are always teams that would trade for the backup.

    Matt Shaub comes to mind.

I mean the Eagles have done it very recently. Nicky Foles lead them to the Superbowl, they traded him away. Carson Wentz was supposed to be the future, they draft jalen hurts and traded WEntz away.

Getting a high talent guy who could pay off big at the most important position in the game is awesome. However, I worry this could lead to a bad situation if Ridder isn't the guy.

If Ridder isn't going to be a franchise QB, I hate the idea of wasting several years trying to develop him and missing out of elite QBs in the draft those years. If we still had Ryan I would feel better but we're in a tougher situation now. We need a QB.

So what are your thoughts on him? Is he the guy? Is he the next Andy Dalton? Is he destined for a practice squad?
They won’t waste several years developing a third round pick. They should have a good idea by next draft if it looks like he’s not gonna grow. I love Ridder in the third round. Dude is a winner with a chip on his shoulder… in a good way.

Very odd. Who is London found have throwing him the ball? I'd put my money on Burks, Christian Watson, or Sky Moore. Maybe Breece Hall.

I like the London pick better than most, but I also found it kinda odd.

I think the logic is the Falcons are going to be very bad and throwing the ball a lot and basically on he and Pitts will be really viable targets. Mariotta may have a terrible season. He may only throw for 3000 yards and throw a buttload of picks, etc. but odds are both Pitts and London will both break 1000 yards.

The more and more I read about the BYU back, the more and more I actually like the pick. He was either #1 or close to it with yards after contact. He's definitely not a burner, but he is the textbook style back that can thrive in an Arthur Smith offense. He punishes and doesn't go down.

Garrett Wilson was my preference if we were going to pick a WR there. But Smith loves tall pass catchers which I think made them rate London higher than he should have been.

I don't like going WR there at all. So many holes at other positions.

I mean yeah there are holes everywhere… but WR and Edge were the two most obvious. We literally had zero WRs. Nothing they could have done this year would have made them a 2022 contender anyways. Now they have some real solid young talent and will have tons of cap space in 2023… they are actually set up pretty nicely for the future now. I am a lot more impressed with the new FO than I was. I would have gone the Edge route at 1 but I’m fine with WR. There was not a consensus #1 WR but London was ranked 1 by a number of analysts and was a top 15 pick on most boards. I think his speed is overstated as heck. Rumor is he ran a 4.5 ish 40 for the Falcons privately. That would be pretty great at his size. The “he didn’t get separation in college” is just flat out wrong. It is overstated and simply not true. He got plenty of separation.

A guy with ACL history on both knees? No thanks. The Titans were smart to get rid of him.

I agree with you. WR was the biggest area of need with Edge. Ridley getting scrapped for the season meant our top WR was Auden Tate a receiver with 799 career receiving yards. Tajae Sharpe has the most yards for Falcons WR, with under 1400 yards. Easily our top 2 receivers would have been Pitts and Patterson and everyone else would have been under 500 yards.

On the real, would the Falcons and Julio reunite? Like I'm sure there's some bad blood but honestly, it could work for both. Julio is a legend and should be treated as such.

For sure, it wouldn't be signign him on the hope he is Julio from 2018. It woudl be basically signing him as a legend to tutor and train with our younger players. Maybe come back and smack Ridley around after the year.

I’m not sure Julio is such a mentor like figure anymore.

He kinda quit on the team over the last 3 years

This was when he thought he was the **** and the best int he game. He is if he's healthy. But he hasn't really been healthy in 3 years. If no one signs him he may be willing to come back.
