Crabtree can be a weak number 1 or a very good number 2. Ideally, he should be the QB's safety net and move the chains bc he not gonna just blow by the defense and put any fear in to the defense. Like Zito said, he's another Boldin. Not that that's bad by any means, it just means he's no CJ, Thomas, Green, etc.

And being a good WR but not great isn't bad. You need them. The Niners WR strength is their depth. Against a team that has a shutdown corner and weaker corners their depth will really work out. They have 2 guys that are 1/2 types and one that's a 2/3 type with some big play ability. That's very good to have. And of course they have the most underutilized TE in the game. Niners could have an excellent passing offense with the right QB. Like put Brady or Peyton on that team and they're great at passing because they don't really have a weak player. But with Kaepernick, I think depth isn't as important as top talent. Maybe he'll prove me wrong but so far he's been so locking onto his first target that having 4 capable targets may be like throwing extra grease on a fire.

Man, 13 touchdowns is so underutilized.

Lets see what happens when Kaep finally has a full set of skill position players out there. But, its important to remember that a Jim Harbuagh led team will always run more than pass.

Davis had 52 receptions. Sure he was a redzone target, but he's hardly utilized to his potential.

    Way to cherry pick.

    JEEZ DUDE.

Davis is as big of an athletic freak as there is in the league. Can't argue that...his combine numbers were insane. He could be the no 1 all around TE in the league if he was fed correctly.

I think Graham and Gronk would be better, but there's no reason he couldn't be a 1000 yards a season TE and he hasn't been that for SF.

Combine numbers don't always translate to great football player.

No they don't. In VD's case he is an great football player. He should get more yards and receptions, but with the other playmakers around will garner receptions and such as well.

This being said I am sick of his act though. Yes he's at camp, but the whole contract issue and his brand he was pimping is pretty lame. I hope this doesn't follow him on the field.

The 49ers should really sell, honestly. They've reached their peak with this core. They went from losing Super Bowl, to losing the NFCCG. They're regressing, and should get draft picks while they can.

I know you're playing around. But, the funny thing is that they still get loads of draft picks and still are one of the 2 or 3 best teams in the league.

This just shows that you don't understand football. 15-20 years of watching football tells us otherwise. This is just not how it works. You are ignorant about the game of football.

We are down two running backs the last two days. Kendall Hunter tears his ACL and LaMichael dislocated an elbow yesterday. James should be back by week 1, but the depth at this position is dropping fast.

Which makes the pick of Hyde look better and better by the day. Hopefully Lattimore can contribute this year.

Well LMJ is useless as a running back. Lattimore can't be counted on unfortunately. Gore is going to put up numbers this season. Bottom line.

If we have to rely on Gore to be a bell cow this year we are in trouble. I think Hyde is going to get 10+ carries a game. But, we might actually see some more passing with three/four wideout sets for a change.

Greg Roman doesn't know how to use more than three wide receivers at a time.

We've never had three wide receivers that were worth running in the same route.

Roman is the reason why the 49ers lost the Super Bowl and lost last season.

Win as a team...lose as a team. I don't believe in putting more blame on any one individual. Especially a coordinator. To me thats just an easy scapegoat to the total team not playing well enough.

49ers had what was almost an impossible task in beating Seattle in Seattle and they came as close as you can to doing it.
