Not sure if reported amongst gilesfan's inanity. Falcons signed Jake Long. Wonder if he'll move inside or an injury will be announced. I thought Matthews and Shraeder were fine. If the Falcons had a glaring hole it was at center and left guard.

A pretty good week 1. I'd like to catch the Titans play their next game to gauge MM and how they look.
We close end of the month on a new house and the wife has taken the reigns off me looking for a new TV for football Saturdays (and Sundays). I'm gonna be pumped to get a new rig on the wall.

Redskins all time leading passer in terms of yards was Theismann, who in 12 seasons and 124 starts and 167 total games played, compiled a 56.7 comp%, 160 TDs 138 INTs and 5.69 NY/A.
Ryan is the Falcons all time passing leader in terms of yards, in 8 seasons, 111 starts (no bench time) compiled a 64.1 comp% 183 TDs 90 INTs and a 6.58 N/YA
Granted it's hard to compare QBs across eras. That is 100% true. But Ryan has smashed any QB number the Redskins can hope to put out there.
RG3's non-mediocre (by your standards) 2012 came with some pretty nice stats. He posted some solid numbers, even with that, Ryan was his superior in 2012, And the reason why? Because it's easy to look good when you have a super low number of attempts. RG3's rookie offense was uber dumbed down, he only had 425 pass plays in his 15 games. Which if my reading of stats really quick is right, is the second lowest of any full time starter that year, which while Wilson had more drop backs by a few, he played a game more.
Only reason RG3 was an effective rookie was his legs. Once he got them busted up again, he was toast. Because he has a nive arm but can't make a good read to save his life.

I have to (continue to) laugh at the people who say/said Dez is selfish and whatnot. He got terrible news and wasn't even on the field but was fired up for the big win Sunday. really think the Cowboys will ne NFC favorites by the end of the year.
They (Dallas) needed a miracle and a meltdown from the lowely Giants to win. I don't see how that sort of performance at home garners the Cowboys being NFC favorites down the road.
Well, first off it was a division game, and the first game of the season. They are often difficult games. The Cowboys dominated much of that game. TOP and yardage were way in our favor, so I'd say the mistakes were more flukey than skill for the Giants or lack thereof for the Cowboys.
Randy Gregory was out for much of the game and pass rush went down hill after that, as he was playing really well. He will be back, and so will Greg Hardy, which will make the pass rush pretty scary. Add in Ro McClain, who was very good last year, and the defense should remain stout (the Giants weren't able to much at all, all game).
Dallas was mostly getting whatever they wanted on offense, using the short passes to the RBs as the run game. The final two drives New York just couldn't stop them, even without Dez present. It was like cake.
Put Dez, McClain, Hardy, and Gregory back on the field, probably all in the team's top-10 of talents/players, and by the end of the season they should be looking really good.
Cowboys tried handing that game over and the Giants couldn't take advantage, mostly because when they weren't handing the game over, they were dominating it. That allowed them to take advantage when Eli was Eli and massively screwed up. But let's not pretend it wasn't really tough to take advantage of that mistake. Had to drive down the field with no timeouts and a little over a minute left. Without Dez.
Don't know that Dallas will be the favorites. But they're likely a lock to win the East unless ELI-te and the Giants have one of their unexpected good years they seem to have every 2-3 years.
I don't see the Eagles making much noise. Sammy will be in the IR again by week 6.
Their talent is right there with anyone in the NFC.
The Eagles are a much better team than the Giants, IMO. The Giants have nothing on defense. It's tough for Philly to not get gassed at the end of the season though. And when they go three-and-out on offense, it kills their defense because they get no break. Chip doesn't believe in TOP (which is foolish) and it can lead to their D getting gassed.
The Eagles finished 10-6 last year with Mark Sanchez starting half the games so I'm sure they will be fine. They have a little bit better defense this year and should be better on offense. They should be right up there in odds of winning the division. If it comes down to Chip Kelly or Jason Garrett, I would give the advantage to Chip.
