Rea has probably pitched to tougher lineups in AAA.

Hopefully Williams can give us another outstanding start

Looks like Laz Diaz' strike zone extends about six inches in all directions when the Braves are batting. Sure hope he gives the same strikes to Perez as he's giving to Rea.

3-0 already after a swinging bunt RBI and a wild pitch...this may be a short night for me in light of the two hour time difference..

I would really like for someone (those who are somehow confident in Perez) to explain to me why they think Williams Perez can be a Major League starter....

Way to hold onto the ball AJ.

I know AJ has had a great year, but I'm sick of playing a 38 year old catcher with a young guy tearing up AAA.

You think this inning is proof he won't be? Bad news for wisler and folty bc Perez has outpitched both.

This inning/game has no bearing on my opinion, I've said since the beginning that he isn't a MLB starter. Puts too many guys on base (as evident by just walking the opposing pitcher)

Bad News Braves tonight--walking the pitcher when you've already given up a couple of BS runs.

You know he's 24 year old rookie, right? I'm certainly not sold on him being a starter, but I won't discount his solid rookie year so far.

It doesn't matter how old he is, I don't care if he was 16. He puts way too many guys on-base, mostly by walks as the following stat shows: 44 K's / 33 BB in only 68 innings which if you say he throws 200 innings next year that equates to roughly 100 BB's in a season. How on earth can you say he's had a solid rookie year??

Before he was injured, he had s 2.88 era in 8 starts and 3 relief appearances. He got roughed by philly and sf his first 2 starts after injury, but pitched a complete game vs TB in his last start.

You should vent your frustration towards our offense that is full of guys with tons of mlb experience. We can't score off a rookie starter that's no better than Williams Perez. If AJ holds onto ball at plate, it's 2-0

Yes he pitched really well against TB although he was extremely lucky in that start, as it's rare to walk 4 and only give up 2 runs. That still doesn't justify the "solid rookie year" statement.

I'm the total opposite of frustrated, I'm all on board of what Hart and Co. are doing. I simply asked a question that YOU responded to with a statement that had nothing to do with my question and yet you later said you agree that you aren't sold on him being a starter. If you'll go back (from the day he was called up) and look you'll see that I've never been "sold" on Perez even when he was pitching to a 2.88 ERA.

    Here's all of perez's starts...

    Vs TB -- 5.0 ip 1 er
    At lad -- 6.0 ip 1 er
    At sf -- 7.0 ip 0 er
    Pitt -- 5.0 ip. 4 er
    SD -- 7.0 ip 0 er
    At Boston -- 6.0 ip 0 er
    nym -- 6.0 ip 4 er
At pitt -- 4.2 ip 2 er (injured)

    At philly -- 4.1 ip 9 er
    SF -- 6.0 ip 5 er
At TB-- 8.0 ip 2 er
    At sd -- 3.1 ip 3 er

    I think that's solid. Maybe I'm wrong
