Folty is just kind of dumb. Dude isn't learning anything.

Make it 5.61 with runner on 2b. I sure will be glad when he magically becomes the next smoltz.

Folty's just not a very good pitcher. This is reminiscent of the Sunday game he pitched against the Mets when he gave up something like six runs in six innings.

Not sure he's even got bullpen potential at this point. I don't care how hard he throws, whenever he's on the mound there's a 50-50 chance it's going to be batting practice for the other team.

Folty just can't locate his pitches at all. Just serving it up.

Someone else had it right when they said Folty had a big arm and a ten cent brain IMO (and I heard similar from Houston folks). Plus his fastball is very straight despite being able to reach back for 99 mph, often off target and his secondary pitches very inconsistent too.

He is like a slightly better version of a white Juan Jaime I'm afraid.

If we're counting on him in our magical '17 season, we're screwed

That will do it for Folty. Three of the four hits (and one of the sac flies) he surrendered in the fifth were recorded against sliders

    ...

So he's the next smoltz? Don't remember teams teeing off on john's slider

Line on #Braves Folty: 4.2 IP, 9 H, 6 ER, 1 BB, 5 K. 80 pitches. Shortest start since 6/14 at Mets, ties most ER allowed.

The main reason I was against letting Folty get hammered in the Majors is because this could kill or greatly reduce his trade value.

Yep. Problem is he was getting hammered at Gwinnett too

It seems like every time Folty pitches I, too, wind up getting hammered.

Maybe the Braves can get lucky and revive Jacksons career. Could be a option for the end of the rotation cheaply next year.

That will do it for Folty. Three of the four hits (and one of the sac flies) he surrendered in the fifth were recorded against sliders.

Pretty sure they were curves (at least I hope they weren't sliders). They were pretty slow hangers to me.

Let em take folty's spot this year. Folty needs to go work in the minors or he'll be scared of his shadow soon

    @grantmcauley
The slider continues to be the pitch that does Mike Foltynewicz no favors. #Braves

    ...

Think I read that folty threw a slow slider at the beginning of the year, but supposedly starting throwing it faster

Given the fact that Folty's, evidently, not the sharpest knife in the drawer I can't help but wonder how much he'll learn in the minors. How many times has he been sent down this year?

Safe to say the team needs at least 2 SP's in FA next year.

Cant go into the year with what they have.

And im not talking about a Wandy/Harang/Cahill type.
