So that's why my dad (Fox News addict) doesn't like the pope.
"The same people who gave us Obama gave us this Pope."

is the Pope running for politial office?
...huh?
you're loony, man. on that ron paul loony juice, i guess.
i didn't command anyone listen to him, or any of his religious beliefs especially.
he brings up social issues that make conservatives squirm and i find it interesting how they treat someone they would otherwise DEMAND people to have the utmost respect for. since he cares about less fortunate people and asks others to follow the bible in doing the same, they dislike him and attack him.
you love to draw your own conclusions on what people say. you consistently make stuff up and put words in people's mouths and consider it a "win" for yourself. it's really interesting. the sturg-hyperbole is consistently strong, but it makes for weak arguments.

You said in another thread that you question the intelligence of anyone who is religious.
The Pope is religious. Should I be paying attention to him?
And by the way, I like the guy. Think he's a good due. I abhor his politics, and I think he's getting a bit too much into for my liking. He should be focusing on his God ordained job, not embracing his celebrity and trying to influence the state. I'm a bit surprised that the left is so open to such a religious figure getting such a massive platform from our federal government.
But it does go both ways, like when a bunch of Catholic bishops--including the one in John Kerry's diocese--wanted to excommunicate any legislator who was pro-choice. They do have that authority, but I think those actions were more about politics than church doctrine. I'll admit I could be wrong, but it certainly seemed that way.
Not saying the Pope is right or wrong on this issue but let's be honest, what is, or at least should be, more religious than the state of the planet we may well be making uninhabitable, climate change aside. There is so much pollution literally everywhere that climate change might not even matter anymore.
This new pope, what an ahole!!!
