Not to worry. We expect his voice to change in the next 12 to 18 months. Seriously, his "presence" doesn't engender confidence in his potential to be a general manager. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed that he's the upcoming superstar that he's purported to be.

Ah yeah.....Mr. Beane, ah, yeah, ah this is , ah Coppy? with the Braves, ah, well, ah Coco, ah, well.

Let me start over. Ah, well, ah Freeman, untouchable, mostly, but, ah.

    In the US of America.

    Thank you!

    Hangs up.

Ron Washington to Billy Beane: What the hell was that?
Beane: I think the Braves just offered us Freddie Freeman for Coco Crisp?

That is rather shocking. The one thing Wren and the other two Johns seem to be best at is running their mouths. I thought the gift of gab must be a prerequisite for that position.

After watching the press conference. Geez. Maybe Fredi can give him some pointers.

Pretty sure they made the announcement at this time because they knew not many people were paying attention.

I've listened to a half-dozen or so Coppy interviews. He's never fluid, but he was especially nervous and at a loss for words in the TV booth last night. It's not likely he'll ever be the guy at the top of the food chain for an organization. Definitely a non-traditional exec . . . I'm rooting hard for him. This increasingly popular model of pairing a GM w/ a Pres of Ops fits both Coppy and Hart well.

Personally, I don't care how bad his public speaking abilities are. All I care about is how well he runs this team.

I don't follow the NFL much anymore, but the Packers are the team I have rooted for in the past. Ted Thompson isn't all that graceful in front of the mic and I'll take his record any day of the week.

I hope he emails trade proposals, he may never get anything done over the phone.

Well let's hope John Hart's phone lines are down and is internet connection isn't working ever again.

I care more about how he runs another team still called the Braves. This team sucks.

If he improves this team, I wouldn't care if he sounded like one of The Coneheads.

I like to pick my GM's by hair. You want something like Glavine has going there with the greyish hair with white around the temples. I just dont trust a bald guy. Bald is kind of neutral and I dont like neutral. You never know where they stand. We need someone with hair like Glavine, but not Glavine himself because I am still bitter about that time he turned his back on the team for more money.
