Never hit above .200 in post-season with the Braves. Oh yeah, batting average doesn't mean anything.

None of that has to do with what Heyward did this year. But I guess living in the past is what you like to do.

Toronto Blue Jays: Last won World Series in 1993
Los Angeles Dodgers: Last won World Series in 1988
New York Mets: Last won World Series in 1986
Kansas City Royals: Last won World Series in 1985
Chicago Cubs: Last won World Series in 1908
Texas Rangers: Has never won the World Series
Houston Astros: Has never won the World Series
I love it! I'm just glad to see something different. I'm happy with about any of these teams winning. I'd prefer the Mets didn't because of the division, but they're so damn likable.

I will reiterate. Anyone from the AL is fine with me. Wanted to see KC and Pitt before it started. Everyone in the NL is disgusting.

Still hasn't won a playoff series, even on that 100-win team. A top-ranked superstar would display more credentials. Don't fret, he'll probably get grossly overpaid this winter, and you can gloat.

According to you and a few others. But if he's considered top shelf by most and gets paid like it then chances are that's what he is.

Because playoff series wins is a true measure of a players worth. Barry Bonds is the greatest player of my generation and he doesn't have a ring. Must mean he sucks.

Ted Williams is another one who comes to mind. Not that I'm saying that the H in Theodore Williams stands for Heyward.

He's put together exactly two good season offensively. For a player as highly touted as he is/was expectations should be much higher than that in my opinion.

Well he's not a MOL bat, is frequently injured, not consistent offensively and wants an opt out. So I doubt there will be much interest in him.

What do you consider good? Because I count 4 seasons with a WRC+ of 120 or higher. That to go along with elite defense and base running.

Would you pay Jason Heyward 15 million a year?

For me, $15M per year is about right for Heyward. But, it would depend on the needs of my team as to whether I would sign him for that or not. If I had a good, solid all around team that was short on power and I needed a 25-35HR/year guy at RF, then no, Heyward wouldn't be my guy because he hasn't shown he can be that type hitter except once, then he changed his approach. If I had a lineup full of mashers and I needed a good OBP guy who had some power, played good defense and ran the bases ok (stolen bases in a Macro sense are useless in modern baseball) then Heyward for $15M, 6 years would be about right.

Do I think he's a $200M dollar investment? No way. No how.

A point-counterpoint debate on the respective values of Heyward vs Gattis is called for here.

In the real world, does such a team exist?
