Remember the name folks..
Madison was originally drafted by the Red Sox in 2009 (7th round) and has great stuff. Mid to high 90's fastball with two decent off-speed pitches.

Hopefully Young is as good as the Bum.

I clicked on this hoping it was a typo or autocorrect.
I find it hard to get my hopes up for anyone we sign of the scrap heap. Now if he comes back from winter ball with a cool Spanish nickname I might change my mind.

Never hurts to build a stockpile of guys with excellent stuff to be relief candidates. Relievers are incredibly unpredictable and tend to come out of nowhere. The more arms like this to gather the greater chance you'll get one or two to hit out of the pen.

[QUOTE=blueagleace1;275749]My response was in regard to the "scrap heap" comment. Nothing more.
I think the issues is this is a career minor league signing. Something has made him to never really make it to triple A and he is 25. Now last year seemed to be his best year, so did he figure something out, or just mature enough. It is a low risk/high reward type signing but probably a long shot to really pay off.
Not trying to say I told you so, but there is so much more to a player than what his Minor League stats say. Granted it's only two appearances but I hope some will see that his stuff will play at this level.

His first appearance definitely deserved this sort of gloating!
