this is a bit silly but figured I would post just for the H*** of it.

Let me make this clear, i DONT want to deal Freeman off, but if the Astros, Bosox, or Pirates called with the perfect package, you have to consider it. All three teams have bats and pitching we'd want in a combination. I'm just not confident that the current FO would get a package back we'd all be happy with.

Coppy is pretty fired up in this interview. Finally says something definitive on Freeman. I'm convinced he won't be traded this offseason.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...eman/75963388/“I cannot make it any more clear,’’ Coppolella said, “we are not trading Freddie Freeman. We are not. I’d give my right arm before we trade Freddie Freeman. It is not happening.’’

Trading Freeman will not happen.

Well then Coppy needs to rethink his position because we don't have enough young pitching.

Damn. This hunger strike is getting old.
After reading that interview with Coppy, I'm concerned. 2 things: 1. He's way too defensive in responding to critics. 2. Either he doesn't get it or he thinks the fans are too dense to figure ish out. But saying things like he didn't trade Maybin at the trade deadline because the Braves are not "tanking" or that trading for Aybar proves the Braves are not "tanking"....man, just own it, bro. But I hope he is just spinning it for PR sake. If not, and he believes what he is saying, we are in deep trouble.
LOL...Either the FO doesn't care what fans think and are alienating them or they care too much and don't have the stomach for a rebuild.

I am truly hoping he is going to get a talking to regarding public/on the record speaking. I surely hope that this is due to him being a young/new GM. To paint yourself in a corner and say "we will win more games than last year" or "We won't trade X player" is GM suicide. Do what is best for the Organization not the team. If losing a bunch of games happens while you implement you plan then so be it. True fans will be ok. Fickle fans can F off and go be Yankee or Dodger fans if they want a team that looks good on paper... He needs to say things like We are really wanting to build around Freddie, and I know this the organization as a whole will be BETTER than last year, and we will continue to improve it in the years going forward.
and yes, if he thinks not trading Maybin saved this team from 'Tanking' last year, then I am really concerned. If they got a lot of offers for Maybin at the deadline, then they failed at not pulling the trigger..especially if they dump him this off season.
Again, these people do not walk on water.
Agreed with others... Coppy doesn't appear to be the genius he was made out to be.
I started losing faith after the Olivera deal... and it's gotten worse since
