    Next Move?

If I had to lay money down I'd say it's Javier Baez. He can play 2b, SS, and 3b average or above, has right handed pop, and is cheap.

    What would yours be?

Can't see that happening. I think a more realistic target is Starlin Castro but would obviously LOVE to grab Soler or Baez.

I would hope/think that Miller could net you a guy like Baez and a low level prospect with upside, so would Soler for Maybin + Jenkins/Sims with them keeping their prospect even out the deal?

Not sure the Cubs would want to part with both of them.

We have an excess of outfielders if Olivera is moving to left. Maybin makes the most sense to trade.

Hate to see Maybin get traded so soon.

He wanted to come here, he's improved. I know he'd have little value as a corner OF, but just hate to see him go so soon especially. He's been on terrible teams his entire career, would like to have seen him be here when we finally go to the playoffs again.

I doubt Maybin wants to play until he's 50, though.

I'm hearing Miller for A.J. Pollack. Both have three years of control.

How do we to about subtracting a pitching prospect from that deal? Do we agree that as part of the deal, we must cut a pitching prospect from the system? Or do we give them the value left over from Miller after taking away from him the value of a mid level prospect? Or do they also have to give us a pitching prospect, but we convince them of this sneakily?

In all seriousness, there's no way we're getting both, and to do it, it would require something like Teheran, Newcomb, and Sims. At least.

Well he was a big reason why most of those teams were terrible in the first place.

I dont recall anyone saying that. I recall everyone saying "Yeah thats a great move for the Royals they got several good young prospects for a pitcher that wanted out". Starting to get a little worried Coppy is delusional. He thinks Aybar is a better player than Andrelton. He keeps saying we arent going to be that bad and everyone doesnt know what they are talking about but he said the same **** last offseason. I fully expect us to lose 94 games and have him come out declaring victory because he said we wouldnt lose 95 games again.

Tough to tell at the moment - I'd imagine things will be pretty quiet for a few days to give the Freeman mess time to cool down (or breathe).

Given all the pieces and confirmation that payroll will be going up significantly in 2017, I wouldn't dismiss a deal for Todd Frazier out of hand. $7.5 million salary in his last year of control, and one of those guys that seems pretty convincing when he's asked about money - he sounds like he expects to be paid what's "fair", but isn't looking to break the bank and put the team in a position where they can't be competitive.

Would Miller and Sims get it done? Maybe.

Maybin/Smith, Markakis, Freeman, Frazier, Pierzynski, Olivera, Aybar, Peterson sure would give you a much better offense in a hurry.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
