He kinda looks like the Dali Lama kid from the Matrix.

Dodgers: I want Miller, Jenkins and a Spoon for Puig.

Coppy: Do not try to bend the spoon just understand that there is no spoon.

I'm not getting too upset with this deal because it's just Maybin but I really don't get it.

We don't move him at the deadline and while some thought he should have been moved, the return would have likely been very similar to what we received now. I like Maybin's tools, but he just hasn't been able to apply them consistently. I thought Seitzer had solved him, but then he took a nosedive. He's really a highly-paid 4th OF.
That somewhat depends on his defense. If he had played his typically good defense, he might have been 1.5 - 2 WAR player. And that's certainly better than a 4th OFer type.

I truly don't get this one. Coppy won't last 3 yrs as our GM seems to be too much of an analytics guy. Maybin isn't a difference maker but he was genuinely thrilled to wear the tomahawk. We need more like him in that respect. He was the first in a long while that we brought in by trade you could say that about, imo. I hate his time here was so short. 95% of the league doesn't care what's on the jersey as long as the check clears.

That could be, but this was only his third season with more than 500 PAs. I think he's a decent player, but I don't know if he's a full-time CF. I enjoyed watching him play and he seems like an all-around good guy, but I wonder if he's a full-time player at this juncture in his career.

I'm not sure how trading for Speier and Krol is an analytics thing, but the rest of your point is exactly how team's lose baseball games. It's sad to see Maybin go when he was so happy to be here, but you don't make roster decisions based on the player's desire to be a member of that team. I'd much rather have a CF who just plays for the check if it means he's a better player.

Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free press reporting that the Braves sent $2.5m with Maybin and not just $1.5m. So, Bowman's number included the $1m buyout for 2017.

On paper this looks like a hasty move just to dump salary. I'm hoping Krol is another EOF that we pluck at the right time. Relievers are such a fickle stock to predict.

Cam was Grand Marshal of the Holiday Parade in Asheville, NC yesterday BTW (his hometown).
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
