    This projection on Beckham is better than I would have thought. Standardized to 600 PA for comparison purposes, ZIPS has him at 1.1 WAR. That's virtually the same as Jace. Maybe my initial negative reaction was a bit too harsh and somewhat ignorant on Beckham's defensive value.

    He's no world-beater, but to gauge from some of the reaction you'd think we'd have signed him to a 20-year/$2 billion contract. Folks, it's only $1.25 million. At his best, he's probably a platoon partner with Jace Peterson and a late-inning defensive sub for Garcia (or Olivera) at 3B. I'm not expecting a lot, but if this is how people react to a signing of this magnitude, this board is going to become a tar pit.

    looking at the rule 5 and non tendered list.. I really hate that we lost this roster spot for Beckham.. just seems there are other bets out there with more potential. Here is to proving me wrong..I usually am.. (I am on record as saying zack wouldn't sign with dodgers so see..)
