    Freddie's Wrist

I'm worried that it's going to keep bothering him until he has surgery. He says it was still hurting in mid-December, 6 months after injuring it. Then miraculously the pain disappeared after another cortisone shot. He says he's pain free now ... but ...

He hurts it again and he'll have next to no trade value.

And he has a slight bone impingement that regularly bothers him, so he's never really 100%.

It's ridiculous he didn't go ahead and get it fixed after the trade deadline when we were toast.

Braves to use caution with Freeman at camp

There's reason to believe the Braves have reasons to not believe Freddie's wrist is fully healed.

"When Freeman reports to camp on Tuesday, he will be further evaluated by the Braves' medical staff, which will determine how active he might be during the early days and weeks of Spring Training. The veteran first baseman missed a month after injuring his wrist in June, and then he battled lingering discomfort over the remainder of the 2015 season.

"We just want to take our time," Braves general manager John Coppolella said. "We've got seven weeks of Spring Training. There isn't any reason for him to rush and have him hit 45 rounds [of batting practice] the first day. So let's just be safe.""

Because you can't have Tommy John surgery on your wrist?

Because we're punting this year, silly. He'll have it fixed for 2017.

Because he's afraid he'd come back weaker and would never be the same again.

"I feel pretty good,” the big first baseman said. “What Coppy said yesterday is what we’re going to do. We’re going to take it slow. For me it’s day to day, there’s some good days and some bad days. So right now we’re just going to try to take it easy and just not go out there and try to hit (Braves reliever) David Carpenter’s fastball and all that kind of stuff."

Well that didn't take long -- 2 weeks into ST.

    http://m.braves.mlb.com/news/article/167095920/freddie-freeman-has-sore-right-hand-wrist

"LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Even as Freddie Freeman spent the past two weeks producing surprising encouragement, there was reason to wonder if his right wrist truly had improved to the point where it would be durable enough to withstand the daily rigors the season might bring.

Freeman was reminded of this when he exited Friday afternoon's split-squad game with what the Braves termed as discomfort around his right hand and wrist. The veteran first baseman told reporters that he wanted to wait until Saturday to address the matter."

I have reason to wonder if Freddie will play at all in 2016.

Time to shut it down and fix it. Period.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
