    Minors thread 815: Contenders at a glance

    With just under a month remaining in most minor league seasons, here's a look at those players who might win a trophy or two for leading their respective leagues in something or other.

    Gwinnett: Joey Terdoslavich, batting, (tie 2nd,.318, leader at .354); slugging (2nd, .567); Ernesto Mejia, home runs (tie 1st, 28, with Mauro Gomez!); RBI (1st, 79); Omar Poveda, strikeouts (119).

    Mississippi: Jose Martinez, batting (3rd, .295); Christian Bethancourt, batting (4th, .292); Christian Marrero, walks (3rd, 77) OBP (5th, .375); Mycal Jones, stolen bases (4th, 29); Gus Schlosser, ERA (3rd, 2.25); Ian Thomas, strikeouts (5th, 115).

    Lynchburg: David Rohm, hits (tie 4th, `123); Kyle Kubitza, triples (tie 3rd, 6); Matt Lipka, triples (tie 3rd, 6th), stolen bases (4th, 28); Rob Hefflinger, home runs (2nd, 21); Will Skinner, home runs (4th, 16); Nate Hyatt, saves (2nd, 11).
