    Most, Least overruled umpires, 2015

Today's umpiring crew had C.B. Bucknor and Angel Hernandez BOTH. Amazingly, Bucknor only had 50 percent of his appealed calls overturned in 2015, while Hernandez was among the BEST at 39 percent.

According to a Denver Post story, 49.2 percent of all appealed calls were overturned.

    Worst umpires of 2015:

Ben May: 12 of 13 oveturned, 92 percent
    Phil Cuzzi: 13-17, 76.5 percent
    D.J. Reyburn: 13-19, 68 percent
Jeff Kellogg (big shock there): 11-17, 65 percent

    Most calls overturned:
    Reyburn and Cuzzi tied

    BEST umpires:

Adam Hamari: only 4-17, 23.5 percent
    Mark Carlson: 6-21, 28.5 percent
Manny Gonzalez, Gary Cedarstrom, Lance Barksdale, all between 30-31 percent.

SEven umpires had only four calls overturned: Hamari, Cedarstrom, Barksdale, Paul Emmel and the three below...

Jim Joyce, Marvin Hudson, Brian Knight each had only 10 calls even go to replay. All batted 4-10.

Where Bucknor and Hernandez are notoriously bad is behind the plate. You can't get overruled on balls and strikes. They're also known for having short fuses and turning simple mistakes into huge issues.

Bucknor does not have a short fuse. He's grossly incompetent, quite possibly the worst umpire I've ever seen, but he always listens patiently when he drives perfectly even-handed players and managers bat****.
