It is considered canon by the Coptic Church.
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
Yep. 1 Clement was not included in the NT because Clement was an apostle of the apostles and didn't study directly under Jesus. 2 Cleme wouldn't have been included anyway, because it was known that it was not written by Clement. Eusebius was blunt about that and about several other letters written around that time that some were trying to attribute to apostles or apostolic fathers.

It is pretty unlikely that the canonical gospels meet the test of being written by an apostle.
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
Let's take Mark for example:
Eusebius (fourth century) tells us that
Papias (first–second century) said that
John the Elder told Papias that
John Mark wrote this gospel based on
The Apostle Peter’s reminiscences
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
First hand testimony in a mostly illiterate culture is pretty compelling stuff though. And it's message is largely supported by the other gospels, unlike something like the non-canonical Gospel of Thomas.
