The point is, it isn't your typical workplace, so trying to compare it to your average 40 hour job is pointless. And having kids, family, fans, etc around constantly is quite commonplace. And regardless, it isn't like this is something new for the LaRoche family. The White Sox organization agreed to this before he signed his contract.
The same coaches and players who didn't have an issue with it and with some wanting to file a grievance on LaRoches behalf? It got to the point where their star player told Williams to stay out of the locker room (not LaRoches kid) and called him a bold faced liar. To me it's pretty clear where the problem was.
I concede that Williams may be a jerk who is lying about what he actually said to LaRoache, but in the end, he's still the employer. It probably wouldn't be an issue if the team still wanted him. Maybe they just wanted to save 13 mill in payroll.
It just seems like a really petty and silly way to end a career. I have to think he didn't want to play this year very much to begin with and if that's the case, he's better off retiring
Phuck Laroche. He's concerned about bringing his kid to every team function but doesn't want to perform to contract. Wait. He delivers "Gold Glove" defense, Should be paid whatever he wants. Should bring his kids everywhere he goes.
Phuck him. Phuck every other overpaid union suck ass MLB loser, who's only there to collect his millions and isn't setting an example for exellence.
I'd tell it to his face. Good. Glad the White Sox save $13 million because Larouche's first concern isn't helping his team win.

Knucks you're on a roll tonight.
Forever Fredi
Good for Adam doing what he feels is best. Though I do wonder, if a Braves player did this, I wonder if I'd feel that way.
The rest of us aren't really affected by this, so why anyone outside the White Sox cares is beyond me.
Whatever, dude. One thing I'm certain of, if I have a guaranteed $13m to do something for the next six months that doesn't involve somebody else's johnson, I'm probably going to suck it up, send my kid to daycare two days a week, and figure out some way to make it up to him.
Adam Laroche won't care about what you do either way.
