    Red Sox Interested In Grilli???

    http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/0...relievers.html

Brian Johnson sure would look good as the lefty in our rotation to start the season.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Really doubt we'd get Johnson for him.

think holding on to Grilli for a few months would increase our return. I think Grilli will bounce back.

Their thought could be to get him before he fully rebuilds his value .

Wouldn't take less if it were up to me - I'd be happy to hold onto him until someone's Closer blows out and see what he'd fetch if that happens. Luis Alexander Basabe is intriguing - would wonder what our scouts' take on him is.

Assuming health, Grilli's going to have more value than many think - and he may well be the most valuable trade piece that we're willing to move (this early on anyway).

This really helped us last year, though.

    Devers or nothing!

Seriously, Grilli won't be a Brave all year, but he's going to be worth something so I wouldn't do anything rash right now unless the return was somewhat above market for him.

Would be full circle. He was brought to Atl to set up for Kimbrel, now he could go to Boston to set up for Kimbrel

Boston has proven they'll overpay for a RP.

Dombrowski is all in on this year. So yes I could see him paying more than other teams to strengthen the pen.

Worth rolling the dice - we hold his rights through next season as well, and he only gets cheaper. He's probably the one guy that makes sense to hold out on until someone knocks your socks off for him - if healthy, his value only increases as the days go by.

sox are loaded. I'd dangle Viz if I can get a legit piece.

But I wouldn't dump Grilli just to do it. They'd have to give us a piece we think we could use this year or next. But if I could turn a RP into a legit hitting prospect w/ at least AA experience....I'd be interested. Just don't think the Sox are going to do that.

If the Sox want to overpay so be it, otherwise there's no reason to trade him this early.
