Sure hope no one plays for long today since injuries seem to follow teams around. All we need is to have a couple guys get hurt like the Yankees did yesterday.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Gant sure making it hard to leave out of the rotation... I don't care how little experience he has.

Braves beat writers fanning the flames of Gantmania.

Since I've been one of his early proponents around here, I'll say this: It is not in the interests of either John Gant or the Atlanta Braves for him to skip AAA. Especially if he is going to be relieving on the ML team.

Not stretched out. I believe his longest spring training outing is 3 innings.

Of course as soon as I say that he gives up a homer. Still been dominant this Spring. Bringing up the point of him not being stretched out is a good one, however. Maybe stretch him out for a month or so and bring him up if someone's struggling in the rotation.

Given the way things go with pitcher injuries, at least three of the guys in the AAA rotation are likely to get at least 10 starts for the ML team this year. We'll find out about them.

Just being picky, but we don't actually know if they've been having him throw more in the pen following his game outings (unless someone's been there on one of those days - haven't heard anyone mention it here). That said, I'm in the camp that would like him to go to Gwinnett early on, but if he keeps this up we're REALLY going to have a logjam sooner than expected...

1.) Folty replaces Chacin by May.
2.) Blair replaces Norris by the deadline.

That would still leave no available starts for Jenkins or Gant barring injuries. Probably safe to make Perez the long man in the big club's pen and break the news to Banuelos that IF he comes back he's going to be a reliever at this point.

I don't really care if we put Gant in the big league or AAA rotation. I just want to make sure we don't stick him in the bullpen.

With pitchers you can count on injuries. Everyone who is pitching well in AAA will get a shot.

Certainly not discounting that - just pointing out that if Chacin makes a month's worth of starts while Folty's building strength and Norris stays healthy until they see what they want to see from Blair (June for service-time management unless he's really tearing it up), we'd be through the first 1/3 of the season before the others would need to be "ready". If you had to plug Perez in for an emergency start or two somewhere you've got 8 starters without Jenkins or Gant, meaning we SHOULD (hopefully anyway) be able to get through the whole season without having to push Sims or Newcomb - we could use Casey Kelly and/or Weber as starters #11 & #12 to keep that from happening.
