    Opening Day almost here...

And this might be the first time in my life I haven't cared that opening day is almost here.

It's weird usually Opening Day is like the day I clear out my entire day to watch baseball but for some reason I see all these reminders it's almost here and I'm like meh.

Also weird is it has nothing to do with the team sucking cause I knew this last year and still was excited.

Oh well maybe it will change when Tuesday gets here.

If we had bad offseason with no progress for the future id feel the same way. We might lose every game this year, but I'll look at it like I look at spring training. Individual results.

    I personally can't wait.

We are not good at all this year, but at least we are going to compete.

Last year thethe was here to keep you pumped up with his non-stop accounts of how much fun the team was to watch.

I'm not excited about opening day. I'm more excited about midseason when we start seeing the next wave of players debut.

I'm slightly intrigued about opening day, the last at the Ted, not so much about the players, but about closing out an era.

I feel the same. I dont have time to watch a 90+ loss team every day.

I watched bad Braves teams in the past.... I will watch because I keep reading about the optimism in camp and in the organization. I want to see the young guys get their chances, see which look good and which struggle. I learn about the game, the players and the team by watching. Baseball does not require my undivided attention, so I can have it on and still work on other things.

Not watching because the team is not likely to win a lot of games feels to me like a "Fair Weather Fan." The future is bright, and what happens this year is part of building the future. I want to be here to see how it is going.

Opening Day is Opening Day - Christmas in April.

    I'll be home by lunchtime.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Yup. I watched a lot of bad teams in the 70s and 80s. I'm conditioned to root for bad teams. What I wasn't conditioned for last year was for a noisy faction to keep insisting that "weak contact" was some sort of secret sauce for making the team fun to watch and playing baseball the right way and all that nonsense.

I'm more excited about my tickets to an early Mudcats game. I bought early so I could get a chance to see Swanson or Albies at SS. I figure one will get the AA nod and the other the high Class A. Due to being extremely busy at work, this is the first Opening Day in over 25 years I have not taken a full or half day of vacation.

I will still listen to most games since I work when most of the game are played and my one day off a week almost always coincides with the Braves off days.

Anyone know of any MLB.TV discount codes? I'm thinking of splitting a subscription with a buddy.

This is going to be an interesting season. Final season of Turner Field and watching the kids in the minors progress and seeing how many make an impact before the season is out. Opening Day is always great, even if the team isn't projected to do well.

Baseball just doesn't move the needle for me like it used to. Maybe I should speak to my doctor...

I still love the game and will always remain a baseball purist, but life is happening and my desire to sit down and watch the Braves or anyone for that matter is pretty non existent. It has been for a few years now. That doesn't have anything to do with the current state of the Braves either. Heck just a few years ago while still in the army I was in Iraq attempting to listen to the Braves radio broadcasts in the middle of the morning. I probably should have been trying to sleep, but you sleep when you are dead. Maybe I used the Braves as an outlet to pass time. I definitely used sports whenever I could as a way to feel connected to the world though.

To be honest it's like this for all the sports right now. It has to be because I am getting older, right?

Besides the army part, pretty much exactly how I feel. I'm getting older, mid 30's, married now and have alot more going on in my life. In my 20's it wasn't uncommon for me to watch up to 150 games a year, not including the post season. I want to want to watch games, but find myself getting bored really quickly. I'm still a big fan, just don't have the time to watch a whole game that often.
