McCann is only memorable to Braves fans. The point is: there's no Hunter robbing Bonds, AROD giving up shortstop to Ripken, Pedro mowing through the NL lineup, Tony Gwynn carting Ted Williams around, Randy Johnson v. Kruk, Pete Rose running over Ray Fosse. It hasn't stopped players from backing out of the game or top pitchers not being available because they pitched the Sunday before. It's one of the great stains left on the game by Bud Selig. I live for the day when it goes 20 innings, and the teams run out of players.

Wondering what folks here think about Terry Ryan getting fired in Minnesota. I haven't mentioned it, but it kind of came out of the blue up here largely because Ryan has archangel status. I think it should be of interest to Braves' fans because if there is an organization more steeped (some would say "ossified") in a "way," it would easily be the Twins.
